A new organ was built in the main church in Witten, in fact one of the biggest in the Ruhr region. In order to make this public a campaign was launched, and Cape Arcona was commissioned to do the corporate design, including the logo and the corporate typeface.
We created a serif text-font with a low contrast and little cut-outs to take it away from a too historic look. The consideration was, to find a balance between conservatism and modernism, as the client saw it’s target group as well among young people as under elderly organ aficionado. With stunning details in a rather expectable context, the type keeps the balance between modernism and tradition.
The Marienorgel logo won the WOLDA 08 Award.
