Grotesque Cooper

Creating a coffee table book for BMW Group Classic, Germany focused on the vintage “Mini Cooper” car necessitated the use of a typeface that reflected the car’s unique style. To achieve this, we took on the challenge of recreating the typeface found in the Rover Mini-Cooper Emblem, with only the “COOPER” word as a reference and no complete font from the logo’s original design. Our task was to reconstruct the remaining letters to create a cohesive font. Despite the original letters having some irregularities, we drew inspiration from them while adding our personal touch, resulting in what we now call the Mini Cooper Font.

The final result includes both an Italic and a Regular style, featuring uppercase letters that maintain a consistent and disciplined aesthetic.
